Portman has risen steadily up
the rankings in the past few years. In 2006 it was placed
140th, in 2007 it was 118th, and in 2008 it
was 85th.
The result comes as Michael
Hare takes over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Michael replaces Graham Flack, who indicated to the board in 2006
that he wished to retire after successfully holding the position
for 17 years.
Graham will continue as a
part-time Non Executive of the company looking after its
relationships with RADIUS, the international travel
agency network, and any future
acquisitions.
Portman has also recently
extended its remit within RADIUS and is now the network's corporate
travel partner for Ireland as well as the UK. At the same time
Portman has taken over the responsibility in the UK
and Ireland market for Travelocity Business Travel, ensuring
Travelocity's global customers has a seamless experience when
travelling to these two countries.
